try Green spring farms park in alexandria. It's beautiful there. It has a big pond with a gazebo and a short hiking trail through the woods to get to the main park area, with a nice long walkway from the greenhouse to the different gardens. There is also a really old house there that you can reserve tea parties and walk around the old part of the house/museum. This park is located at 4603 Green Spring Road in Alexandria. From 395(going north) take the lincolnia rd. exit(Take exit 3B for VA-236 W/Little River Tnpk toward Lincolnia),Merge onto VA-236 W/Duke St/Little River Turnpike Continue to follow VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike, STAY on little river tpke and keep straight until you get to braddock rd.(there will be a sign for pinecrest shopping center on your right and an exxon gas on the corner) turn right on braddock rd. on your right you will pass a starbucks and tropical smoothie cafe then foxfire grill, immediately after will be some office townhouses and the entrance to the park will be the immediate next right so merge to the right lane as soon as you pass starbucks. It is so gorgeous in the spring but can still be enjoyed year round. I always go there with my mom and we just enjoy all the varieties of plants. I am surprised so many people around here are never aware of it, i guess it is kinda hidden away. hope you make it out here
