Thanks! This is eye-opening for me.

I'd always been skeptical that Yorktown is so much better than W-L, given that YHS has more affordable housing units and low-income housing in its area (Highview Park, the affordable apartments at Westover, a small area south of Ft. Meyer), while the only low-income area feeding into WL that I can think of is Buckingham.

I wonder if the low-income kids at Yorktown don't even take the SAT--and/or if the high-scoring kids are scoring so much higher that it skews the school average higher.

Not that low income always mean low test scores, but it's a strong correlation.

Why not add a few other divisions to the list? Now with Alexandria, Falls Church, Prince William, and Stafford goodness!

Couldn't readily find info for Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Frederick, Winchester, Warren, Fauquier, or Clarke.

Can we color-code this list? It's getting hard to read.

Looks like Yorktown matches better with Woodson instead of McLean.

I wasn't just referring to test scores, but also to the overall feel and demographics of the neighborhoods served. By that measure, Yorktown in North Arlington probably is closer to McLean than to Woodson.

Hey thanks JEB77! I will try and get the other jurisdictions commonly thought of as "Northern VA" (using the widest definition) ASAP.

There you go - am sure that Manassas City is feeling left out right now.

BTW I see now that I incorrectly labeled Broad Run as a Fairfax rather than Loudoun school.
