LOL, I just heard the DC metro area will be the test market for "tube free" toilet paper. We'll see it in stores starting Monday.

I'm not quite sure what to think....

Is it a compliment? Are we considered trend setters (or, more likely to try something new)? Or are we considered more interested in "green" issues?

Or... did they pick DC because it's the land of politicians... and if this TP can stand up to all the politicians shovel out, it can hold up anywhere...

I heard about this and don't like it! Having taught primary grades for years we use those rolls for many art projects. I guess I'll have to start stockpiling toilet paper rolls.

Well, we can always hope it'll be a marketing failure like Classic Coke. I use the tubes, too. They're perfect for storing cords.

I wonder how many people would notice the lack of a cardboard insert if they weren't labeled as such, until they got to the end of the roll.

And will they cost more, less, or the same?

Just don't get rid of the tubes inside gift wrap, otherwise kids will grow up without cheap swords and light sabers.

I have no interest in it because I don't like Scott's toilet paper... tube or no tube.

Reminds me of the ('90s?) SNL skit about 'environmentally friendly' (the linguistic predecessor to 'green') washable toilet paper.

My thoughts exactly. My daughter took care of the class gerbil last Thanksgiving and she faithfully collects all the TP and paper towel cardboards for the gerbil every week.

Ok, call me a curmudgeon .. it's prolly gonna be more expensive, but I hope not! I don't have a tube collector in grade school, and the eagle scouts refuse to create a project to collect them! On the other hand, I have plenty of canned goods for other projects.
