Picked up a bottle of mexican coke (the real stuff - sweetened with cane sugar!) in Florida this past weekend, got addicted on the spot. Anyone know of a store in the Woodbridge area (or around) that might carry the stuff by the case? Comes in a 12oz glass bottle.

I can't help you out with any specific shops, but check and see if you have any taquerias or mexican shops in your area. Down in Norfolk I get the Imported Mexican cokes and pepsis in the large glass bottles (maybe 16oz or more), at a local Taqueria that has a shop/bakery attached to it. They cost more than regular sodas but they sure do taste better, especially out of that ice cold thick glass bottle.

The coke with real cane sugar was/possibly still is sold at local regular stores here in Virginia. I know Walmart had some. Several other sodas were sold with the cane sugar as well.

Wegmans and Costco....$18.99 per case of 24.

edit to add: I'm told that some U.S. Coca Cola bottlers make Coke with cane sugar during Passover. Corn syrup ain't kosher. Supposedly, the bottles have a different color cap than the usual stuff.

This is correct. They have white lids instead of yellow (or the opposite...whichever isn't normal). I went on a hunt for kosher coke with a coworker last spring.

I have an older bottle machine in my home. I buy the 12oz Mexican Cokes at Costco in Springfield.

True. Passover comes up in April so they should be stocking Passover foods by early March. I would think Wegman's would be a good place to find Kosher for Passover Coke as well as Shopper's Food Warehouse on Pickett in Fairfax, which has a large kosher section. The cap will have a Kosher sign on it as well as "p" below it to show that it is kosher for Passover and is made without corn syrup (without the "p" just means it's kosher for the rest of the year but not during Passover which means it has corn syrup in it). Again, it probably won't be available until March, though. And I've only ever seen it in the 2-litre bottles.

Eh, with real sugar Pepsi Throwback available everywhere (and for the same price as normal Pepsi), I think Mexican Coke has lost some of its special-ness.

That's only if you prefer Pepsi over Coke, I'll take my Coke.

They got the throwback Mountain Dew floating around too.

Pepsi is jumping on it. Coca-Cola needs to do the same.

The Mexican Coke comes in glass, which some people prefer.
