Whereabouts in Fairfax? There are ways around the GMU area. I used to drive one of those auto parts pckups in the area and we figured out ways to avoid that area.

Getting through the GMU area on 123.

So you see, when I start having to go out of my way to get to Fairfax (via 123 which is not overly a good route from where I live in Woodbridge) and THEN I have to take alternate routes off of my alternate routhe it's just as easy to go the beltway. Except on days like today.

Good news is that my son got there at 10:15 (10:00 a.m.) appt and the doctor still saw him.

Ugh! Glad you were able to vent! I hear ya' - sometimes it's so frustrating. FYI - today was the first day back for George Mason. That may have contributed to the extra traffic. I know it was "busy" in my neck of the woods because of it.

Alernate route to the alternate route is how I drive around here. Keeps me sane.
