Here is a link to the offerings at Loudoun Country Day School: Link Lookup . They have a lot to offer during the summer. Everything from the traditional activity day camp to half day activities like robotics, crafts and sports. They are well known for their basketball camps. There is also a collection of third party organizations offering camps there. (For full disclosures sake, I work at the school : ) I don't know that I would call us "ritzy" but we do have a very nice facility and a great academic/activities program all year long.

Wow - an 8 yr old in sleep away camp? Hard to believe.
The Park Authority camps are not that great - my husband was getting dressed in a changing room at a Rec Center after he was working out and in ran these unsupervised 6 yr olds - into a changing room with grown men alone! God knows what perverts could be there to attack your kids. Some parents are really stupid.

Why is it hard to believe that an 8 year old is going to sleep away camp? While sleep away camp may not be as popular in Virginia it sure is in NY where I grew up.
