Today the Chief Horticulturalist announced the peak bloom period for local cherry trees will be March 29-April 3. This is slightly earlier than usual.

It's not set in stone, of course--if we get a spell of unusually warm weather it might be even earlier (or if it gets unusually cold it might be later). But, FWIW, Rob DeFeo, the National Park Service Chief Horticulturalist, is almost always right in his predictions.
