I think that's a little harsh. The OP stated that they made their commercial vehicle parking needs clear to the realtor. IMHO, I think the realtor is the one who "should have known better".

You aren't by chance a school administrator are you? A connecticut high school headmaster maybe? Just kidding.

And very good point, they would fine the owner not us. Thank you! Oh and to Margery I would never leave thousands of dollars of tools and equipment parked overnight at Sterling Plaza. Thanks for the suggestion though. And we did live in a similar subdivision in MD that had no problem allowing him to park.
When I lived in MD, my townhome association made parking on the street (not in a space) a towable offense. There weren't even any signs, you just had to know. If you parked a long a curb, a tow truck would show up within 30 minutes. I hated it and thought it was a dumb rule, but it can be done.

I still don't get why the rule states "No trucks...". So what, anyone with a little Ford Ranger can't park in the neighborhood?

Exactly! It states nothing about commercial vehicles...and there are a MANY trucks parked in this neighborhood. Whatever, we do not need the stress of IF it will be towed so we found a storage place that will allow him to park it a few miles away and it is going to be very pricey. Of course, he gets punished for being a working productive citizen..shame on him!

I say you send the storage bill to your realtor for completely dropping the ball on this crucial part of your search criteria.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I wonder if there IS some way you could make the realtor responsible for the storage cost, since you had specified that you would need to be able to park the truck at home.

I think the problem is that the HOA rules were written in 1977. The rules should have been rewritten by now to say commercial trucks. Regardless, the HOA isn't going to allow you to park you commercial vehicle.
