Can you call it the Blockbuster shopping center anymore if Blockbuster is gone? Maybe the Fresh Market shopping center now? Better yet, the Cenan's Bakery shopping center! In any case, Maplewood Grill is pretty good and the piano is nice. But I actually liked it better when it was Le Canard. I can understand that ownership had gotten tired of the Le Canard thing and wanted to try something else though, so we do stop in now and again and typically enjoy it.

If you're willing to venture into dc - several high-end restaurants offer a pre-theater tasting menu. Generally they are still $30-40/person, but it typically includes a 3-course prix fixe menu where you can select an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Not sure if that totally blows the budget, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it includes 3-courses.

1789 Restaurant in Georgetown and Oya in Penn Quarter are good bets for that (both different cuisine styles).

I wasn't overly impressed with 2941 restaurant when I ate there a few months ago - the cuisine was good, but nothing blew me away; typically at a restaurant of their caliber, I expect at least one dish to be impeccable. I'd put 1789 in a similar food genre as 2941, maybe not quite as contemporary, and I enjoyed my food there a bit more.
