Hello,

I'm looking to move to Arlington with some friends and we found a great house in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, specifically the area between South Glebe Road, Columbia Pike, and S. Walter Reed Drive. We are 25 year old young professionals and willing to trade off being extremely close to the metro for a nicer/less expensive place. I'm skeptical that maybe because its such a good place because the area is dangerous or something. Thanks!

Not sure which side of Columbia Pike it is on, but neither side is "dangerous" at all. The north side might be a slight cut above the south, but it's all an ethnically varied and typically middle class area. Assuming somebody can find the money to keep the Columbia Pike Transit Initiative moving forward, a lot of change could be coming to the area, but as long as you're not looking for glitzy at the moment, there's no reason not to look at the area.
