As I have posted ad nauseum, Crystal City is more expensive than that, unless you are willing to settle for an old building without upgrades or luxuries (which the OP didn't say he wanted)--and even then, some older buildings are more expensive than $1500. It's true a few may find a private owner but there is a lot more demand for that than supply so one's timing would have to be REALLY lucky. I believe that several months ago I challenged the notion that the older Archstone building offered anything that cheap and posted a link showing it did not--I just checked and they now have a few tiny studios with specials going on that bring the rent down "into the 1400s" for a limited time. The newer (but still old) building starts "from the 1500s" for 632 square feet.

Are you working in DC? Why not just live there near where you're working? You should be able to find something pretty nice there for that amount of money.

All - The OP is over a year old. I sure hope he's found a place to live by now...

This was a post from last year. Prices on average has increased 100 dollars from then. Even with all that said, this post is pretty much the same thing I posted earlier, just said more pessimistically.
