We are redoing our bathroom and got a ridiculous deal on a nice piece of granite on craigslist. Now we are looking for a shop to take our dimensions and cut the piece to size.

We are located in Vienna, so would like to try and stay somewhat close - but willing to go a bit farther if the price was right.

Any suggestions? I am getting ready to just start calling shops in the area but thought I would check here to see if anyone had any good recommendations.

Thanks everyone!

No idea if they'll do it, but try Sisler Stone on Lee Highway, I think in Fairfax.

Alternatively, you could call up a local cemetery and ask who they use for their headstones. They'd definitely know someone.

Sisler's Stone is on Lee Highway just west of downtown Falls Church. Great place! But not the place to get granite cut for a kitchen or bathroom. You need an actual fabricator who can cut granite to very fine tolerances, add bevels, and polish or seal the result. I would always first recommend Dominion Granite out in Ashburn. They don't try to sell their own stone, so they'll be fine with your hauling a piece in for them to work on. They'll come laser-measure your place to be sure the fit will be as near to perfect as possible. They are very good, very highly regarded, and fun to work with.
