The truck in my neighborhood plays "She'll be Coming 'Round The Mountain". It's actually kind of catchy. Much better than the obnoxious "It's A Small World" from the truck in my old street.

I hate the ice cream truck that comes down our road! It's SO loud and he plays "Silent Night" over and over. Oh yeah, on Saturday he was playing "O Little Town of Bethlehem." It's the same song over and over throughout all the seasons. I'd prefer "It's A Small World"!!!

LOL "Silent Night" seems like a weird choice. When you hear those ice cream trucks playing the same tune over and over you WISH it could be a silent night.

Haha! There was a story in the news a few weeks ago about an ice cream truck driver from Methuen, NY - he was given a ticket by the police because his blaring music was too loud. So he's suing the township! I wish someone would give our ice cream driver a ticket, he comes around in the evenings during dinner and it completely disrupts even the loudest conversation, lol! Kids are probably scared of his Silent Nights.

Fur Elise. If you don't recognize the name, it's the little tune Schroeder plays.

Fur Elise

I always wonder if the truck drivers go crazy listening to the same tune ten billion times.

I had to ask my 10 year old. He knew right away that ours plays the tune to the song that has the lyrics, "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie them in a knot..."

I think that's called Turkey in the Straw.

We don't have ice cream trucks but I see a lot of those fancy gourmet dining trucks that drive around DC selling lunch (not the silver ones, but the Lobster Truck and the Crepe truck, etc..). I think they must get their trucks serviced near here. Those ice cream truck songs always got stuck in my head when I was young!
