I have been researching the area for my upcoming move and realized that people are not playing when they say it's expensive. However, many of the cities offer tax credit (affordable) housing.

I have narrowed my search down to 3 such properties in Arlington, Alexandria, and Lorton. I know Arlington offers a faster commute and possibly better schools, but I am concerned about some of the reviews for these properties.

Is anyone familiar with these places and are they roach, gang, and mice infested or is that overstated?

As far as I know there are wait lists at a lot of the low income housing facilities. Without having listed the complexes, are you sure that all of them are accepting new tenants?

The voucher system is broken, don't count on it.
