I'm in Great Falls and our basement is completely flooded. It took me 3 hours to get home from downtown DC.

Stringfellow Road was closed at 5:00 when I was going home and the same stream was almost up to the bottom of the bridge over Middleridge Ln. in Greenbriar. Thank goodness the storm drain at the end of our driveway is clear as it's a water fall going into it. I'm glad they did the school call as early as they did. Guess I can hang around here now since I don't have to get everything done tonight for tomorrow now.

One busload of students in Clifton ended up being taken to the fire station for parents to pick up. The buses were not able to get through the roads. Some children did not get home until after dark. Parents were not called by the school or transportation. I'm very glad the decision was made to close schools tomorrow. Especially if the rain continues overnight and the standing water does not recede.

Yikes. When did you leave? Left downtown at 7:45 tonight and it took about 30 minutes to get to McLean (although Dolley Madison had several patches that seemed like lakes).

My husband's parking lot is in that clip. He left around 5 so he made it out. We just saw his building on Fox 5 News. Cameron Run just couldn't take all the rain.

I left Capitol Hill at 4. It wasn't bad until I got to Georgetown Pike - the road was so flooded and cars were crawling the entire way. I got home at 7:00.

I heard that Route 7 was closed, which I'm sure added to the problem.

I tried to post a video, but I only have it on Facebook. I am going to try to figure out a way to post it.
Check out these pictures. They are from the West Springfield Little League:
