It's festival time again. I know the Lovettsville Oktoberfest is this weekend. Also this weekend is Mountain Days in Harpers Ferry and Founders Day at Capon Bridge. I'm sure there are lots of festival in other parts of Nova, too. Let's put together a list.

Here are some upcoming events I know about:

Leesburg Airport has an Airshow October 1. This is a free show and it's actually pretty good.

Also, the Big Apple Circus has arrived Dulles Town Center. They're in town Septe. 22-October 10. If you've never been, this is a fun old fashioned type of circus with some outstanding acrobats.

The Steeplechase and Family Fun Fair is at Morven Park Oct. 8. This is one of my favorite of the equestrian events.

There's also some sort of event giving out free pumpkins to kids at the Sardone Building in Sterling this Sunday.

Bizarrely, the Cherry Blossom 5K for Breast Cancer is October 9. Shouldn't that be in the spring????

Saturday is National Public Lands Day.

Many of the National Parks in our area that regularly charge an entrance fee will be FREE this Saturday!

How is this event? Looking for things to do this weekend and this sounds like fun.

Also, Tarara Winery (in Leesburg) is having an 80s tribute band play on Saturday night. We are thinking of going to this. Here's the link: Tarara Winery - Summer Concert Series (http://www.tarara.com/Bands - broken link)

I am considering the Lovettsville festival. The Porsche car club invited us members of the BMW club to bring our cars to give it an authentic "German" feel.

Yup, that's this weekend! I almost forgot about it. My husband was going to participate at one point with his co-workers but not sure on the current status. If he does end up participating then we will be attending.

The Occoquan Arts & Crafts show is this weekend. I went last year and was really impressed with the number of vendors they have at this show.

Also, the Maryland Renassance Festival is always great fun. IMO, it's a bit of a drive but it's worth it. That runs every weekend beginning in late August through late October.
