Month to month lease (Manassas, Fairfax: extended stay, apartment complex, rental)

Hi all-

My sister is looking to find an apartment in the northern Virginia area that would lease the apartment month to month. She and her boyfriend are in the process of buying a condo, but there have been issues and they need to be out of their current place by Nov. 30th. She thinks it will take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months to close on the condo.

They are looking to be a reasonable driving distance to Vienna (within 35 minutes, up to 1 hour in rush hour). Budget wise under $1400 for a 2 bedroom. She found a place in Manassas that would do a three month lease, but is worried about paying rent if the condo close date ends up being in 6 weeks.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Look at the Craigslist NoVA temporary housing and short-term rental sub-forum:

That, or pay up for month to month lease at professionally managed apartment complex or corporate housing.

if in a pinch, you could always go with one of those weekly rate hotels

I agree I would look at Extended Stay Hotels. They have one right off 50 near Fairfax Hospital which would put you on a nice leisurely 10 minute commute to Vienna. Much better than sitting on 66 every day.

Thanks everyone. She was able to get a firm date on the closing of the condo and it looks like it's going to be nearly three months, so she opted for the three month lease.
