I am looking to relocate and I am looking at homes in Belmont CC. I have visited a few homes there, but would like to know what it is like from those who live there. There seems to be a lot of turnover in the homes, which is a slight concern for me since I would prefer to live in a stable neighborhood. It could also be a sign of decline and I certainly don't want to get in on the front end of a down turn.

Personally, I really like Western Loudoun, because I want more land, but my concern with living in such a rural area is my children. I would like for them to live around others their age.

I don't think that Belmont is in any kind of decline. I live in Western Loudoun but I think it's better for kids to be raised in a community. Why not look for something in a neighborhood in western Loudoun, one with lots of kids? There are such neighborhoods in every town in western Loudoun. I don't particularly like Belmont because I hate gated communities. They're such a pain for anyone who is trying to visit you. I really don't get the point of gating a community.

I live in Purcellville in Western Loudoun and there are a ton of kids in my neighborhood. I have two little ones (2.5 & 4). The town is pretty family friendly.

Like I said, I really like W. Loudoun personally, but it is a little too rural for my pre-teen and teen kids. It is a little too far from movie theaters, shopping, and other such activities. For me, W Loudoun is great because I am a private person and love open space. I figure that Ashburn is splitting the difference.

@ Denton56

That is a good point about the gated community, but I suppose it is attractive to me because I am very private. Never looked at it that way
