If someone has their mind set on murdering another, they obviously do not care what's legal and what's illegal. After shooting the officer, do you think this guy thought "Whoa! It's illegal for me to carry this gun on campus so I better not do it!" Wrong. It's your law abiding citizens who are going to follow the law and not carry on campus which leaves them vulnerable in situations like this.

I think the issue is how/why did this guy get his hands on a gun..Im sure he did it illegally just like most crimiinals.

It was reported that he purchased it legally.

He purchased it legally and sadly this kid has no previous real run ins with the law other than a speeding ticket. Sounds like he just went nuts.
