You will understand my sadness at the new restaurant in Brambleton called "La Cucina Italiano".

Yes, just as I was about Mission Viejo when I lived nearby.

They used to pre-make some of their more popular ones like the Milano (also my personal fave) and put in a basket on top of the counter but last time I was in and in a hurry I was disappointed that was no longer an option. I also get bummedout when they run out of hard rolls.

Wegmans has pretty good cannoli -- as I recall they fill them fresh while you wait -- so that the shell is not soggy. Aslo Tony's NY Pizza out at Fair Lakes has good cannoli -- and even better Sfogliatella!

I wasn't even going to post this but...

Costco has some cannoli kits that are actually REALLY good. I think they are better than any of the fresh cannoli I've had anywhere around here.

I found an Italian bakery a bit closer to me in Manassas, so I bought a dozen and will have them later tonight. Hope they taste as good as they look!

All by yourself or will you be sharing?

There are a lot of small Spanish bakeries in NoVA that cater to Latin American immigrants. Many of them will try Italian and French pastries with varying success. Ask for "cañoncitos"

Also if you go into DC, try A. Litteri's Deli and Grocery: Home Page A. Litteri, Inc.

Haha! I'll share. Three leftover!

I'm not a cannoli fan. I'm sure I made it sound like I like them, but really can't get into them bc of the ricotta cheese. Eww. I chicken out every time!

The hubby and friends ate them up, apparently they are the real thing.

If anyone is interested, I found them at the "A Deli" in the Toys R Us shopping center on Sudley Rd. in Manassas..
