I meant to post this 6-8 weeks back when it was more relevant, but what gives with the BOS electing all Republicans?
Loudoun County, with its out of control sprawl, has become more liberal.
So why did they elect ALL republicans to the BOS?

Were the voters that blind as to blame the previous BOS for magically solving all the traffic issues? Or is Loudoun simply Bergen County NJ ala Happy Rich People?

Secondly, as someone long ago saddened to see Ticondera Road, Braddock Road, Buffalo Springs in SE Loudoun being paved, plowed, and ruined by the Toll Brothers, seeing Aldie go from quaint, remote to now appearing on the NBC4 weather alert, form Lovettsville being destroyed, is basically all of Loudoun County (even in a recession) pretty much game over for preserving VA Hunt County and now going to be (even more) dotted with McMansions from Clarke County east?

Lovettsville has been destroyed? Really? I live there, on several acres, but my neighbors have far more property, for their cows, corn, and horses. Honestly, drive down Rt287, or Rt 9, or Snickersville Turnpike or any other road in Western Loudoun and tell me what's been ruined. I'm not seeing it among the horse farms and cow farms. Zoning is one home per 20 acres, but there's almost no building happening.

Loudoun has become more liberal? Voters elected all republicans to the House of Delegates, including 2 new seats. Republicans took all 9 seats on the board of Supervisors, including the chair. All four Constitutional officers are now republicans. State Senate seats, all republican, except one. School Board majority republican, 6/7 out of 9 now. So, please tell me how Loudoun has become more liberal? It looks to me like Loudoun has become much more republican/conservative.

Loudoun's politics always swing back and forth, but life here continues on pretty much the same. If you think it's been "ruined" by all means go live somewhere else. Wait, what am I saying... you're absolutely right, it's ruined I tell ya, RUINED! Ignore all my previous comments about the great quality of life out here, the scenery, the communities. Don't move out here looking for the good life, in fact don't even drive out here because there's nothing left now but ruins. Especially don't drive on the road I like to drive on. RUINS, I tell ya!

Damnit, that reminds me. It's time to go on my motorcycle and raid the area once known as Herndon.

I think we will see more diverse interests represented on a one-party BOS. A common enemy often makes for strange bedfellows.

Party affiliation on the local level doesn't mean a lot. The Loudoun Democrats have a ton of internal organizational problems. There wasn't even a Democratic candidate in my district. They pushed through a goofy redistricting plan that then backfired on them.

It's a fact, the sprawling NOVA region has imported a lot of minorities and liberals.
So why is it the fastest growing US County, has now voted ALL conservative?
Why did the BOS go to 9 republicans?

And yes, Lovettsville, Loudoun, have been ruined. This used to a pretty, rural county. Rolling hills, bright stars and constellations at night.
Now, RT 287 is dotted with awful, out of place McMansions.
Braddock Road has been paved, Ticondaroga Road, has been transformed a nice artifact of when NOVA was alright, into pretty much Franklin Farms.
