My family including a toddler are planning to go somewhere next week for the vacation. We plan to drive our car. Any suggestions on where to go? These are what I am thinking: Hot Springs, VA; Myrtle Beach, SC. I prefer Hot Springs because it is closer to where I currently live in Alexandria.

Harrisonburg?
My grandkids love, love the Harrisonburg Childrens Museum. So much so, that as a getaway the family went on an overnighter to Harrisonburg, stopped by Luray Caverns, stayed in a nice hotel with an indoor pool, and spent time at the Children's Museum. Lovely scenery: mountains & rolling valleys. Good food. With toddlers you don't have to be too fancy, so she'll love it. Oh, and the admission is only $5.00. Check the website:

Try Massanutten resort -- it's actually a ski resort with a very nice view and there is indoor waterpark, snow tubing and etc. It's also pretty close to Harrisonburg.
