A termite inspection was done at a townhouse condo I bought back in 2001 and it came up clean. When the home inspection was in progress I noticed all these ant-like insects with wings right outside the house coming from the foundation. The home inspector said he wasn't a bug guy but I should have it checked out. I put some of the bugs in a plastic bag and brought it to a bug place - it was termites. I contacted the condo association and they said they would treat it. I didn't worry about it.

A year later at about the same time, I came home from work, saw these ant-like winged insects again and opened my front door to find the walls covered with these things. My cats were going nuts! I called the condo association and went crazy on them. They sent out a bug guy and he drilled into the foundation where he put in these tubs of pesticide. A year after that - nothing. All activity had ceased. I had the same termite company come out who had done the inspection a few years prior and gave it a clean bill of health just to see if they'd recognize it this time - and they did. Wonder why they didn't recognize it before.

At any rate, it didn't affect re-selling the place at all.
