Can anyone recommend a good vet for African Grey's? I live in the Bristow area but have no problems commuting for a good vet. Our bird is 21 weeks old.

Thank you.

There is only practice with avian vets in this area right now -

SEAVS (Stahl Exotic Animal Veterinary Services)
4105 Rust Road
Fairfax, VA 22030

Fortunately, it's a really good one. There are two really great avian vets there. We've been going for many years and everyone else I know who has a bird goes there too. There used to be two avian vets in the area, but they both stopped practicing a few years back.

My vet, Dr. Mark Vernon, has his "avian" degree/license, whatever it is. I see it everytime I go in there. I have used him for about 17 years for all my dogs but I know he does small/exotic animals and birds too. Unfortunately, I can't vouch that he is an expert or not but he is a wonderful guy, very caring, and spends a lot of time with you.

He runs the Montclair Veterinary Clinic which is located at Rt. 234 and Waterway Drive (Montclair neighborhood) in Dumfries.

I second SEAVS. I've been going there for years with my reptiles and would not trust anyone else when it comes to 'exotics'.
