Hi everyone! We're out of town and just saw a news note that the power is out in several places in northern VA again. Is it out in Cascades?

No, it is back on in Cascades/Lowes Island. You missed all the excitement. It went out Friday about 10:15pm and went back on Monday morning early or Sunday night late. We couldn't stand it anymore (fourth floor of a condo building, no elevator, no stairwell lights) so we spent Sunday night in a hotel. However, parts of Countryside had power, I don't know what the story was there.

It went out places NOVEC wasn't.

We had blinky lights during the storm - that's it.

We have NOVEC and our power was out from Friday night until late Monday. Some NOVEC customers near us didn't get back until later on Tuesday. But having lived with Dominion for many years, and now NOVEC for the last 4 years, NOVEC is FAR superior. With Dominion power outages were common in the summer, with NOVEC outages are very, very, rare. I had underground wiring with both.

I live in Sugarland, and our power went out twice last night for about 5 minutes each time. We joked that power outages were going to become an every Friday evening occurrence.
