Could someone kindly recommend a gas fireplace repair shop or company that serves Fairfax County?

While having my fence built, the contractors smelled gas near the gas meter. So I had the gas company send an emergency service person to detect the leak. It turns out there is leakage from one of the fireplaces as well as the exhaust for that particular fireplace.

I checked online for a couple of repair shops, but couldn't find any ratings or reviews from the usual sources. So I'd appreciate any recommendation.

Only one I know of is that place on Route 50. Can't remember the name. Right where the big dry-cleaner's is. Someone else will remember the name.

I ended up using Amazing Flame in Loudoun County. It turns out my fireplaces are not leaking gas. In fact, there is no gas leak of any kind.

The owner of Amazing Flame told me that detecting gas from the exhaust is natural since the gas detector also registers other types of gas, not just natural gas.

So I can just thank Washington Gas for costing me $169!

On the other hand, the owner of Amazing Flame seems to be a very nice guy and, if there is any problem with the fireplaces, I will call on him again.

He actually detected a small trace amount of gas throughout the house, but suggested that this was pretty normal.

IndiaLimaDelta, sorry they wasted your money. I had a carpenter tell me something similar about gas exhausted outside the house (from the furnace/water heater). He smelled gas and thought that indicated a leak and urged me to get it fixed or our house would explode, etc. But fortunately I have semi-annual inspections of HVAC and that's never been a problem. And, it's worse when it's someone who is supposedly an expert telling you this, vs. a carpenter...

I know it is to late for you IndiaLimaDelta, but here is another option for gas fireplace repair in Faixfax County. I believe A&T Chimneys cover all of Northern Virginia, are locally owned, and only charged me a nominal 'visit' fee when I had a similar problem.
