I'm thinking about the non-HOV lanes, from Stafford. (I really think this will be my last question about driving on 95!)

545am - 600am

Typically, delays begin at the PWC Parkway and then slow up through Occoquan maybe up to Lorton and maybe even further up to Springfield. And then again on the brakes at the 395/495 interchange. 495 is usually moving at speed while 395 is not.

From my perspective: PW PRKWY on up ~5:50-6:00AM. Fridays typically seem to be smoother however.

I have coworkers who swear there is a window of no-traffic on 95 north in the morning sometime between 6 and 9, lol, but I'm not sure I believe them.

I can tell you that is not true!!

I95 traffic starts early. I find that the I495 rush hour is later. For instance, I95 northbound in the AM is pretty busy, with backups, at 6AM, whereas I could make it up to Tyson's pretty quickly at that time. Around 8:30 - 9AM, I-95 northbound around Woodbridge to Lorton is very thinned out yet, I find I495 to be fairly gridlocked until past 10:00AM.
