Hi All

Normally we do our outlet shopping in Woodbury Common. as we are moving ot NoVa in a few weeks I was wondering what Leesburg Corner is like? Are there any other premium outlets you can recommend?

I've never been to Woodbury Common, but I like Leesburg well enough. Deals at outlets aren't what they used to be, but I get a lot of kitchen stuff there (Le Creuset, Williams-Sonoma, Corelle/Corningware stores). There is another Premium Outlets in Hagerstown, MD and another in Queenstown, MD but they are further away than Leesburg.

Hi Thanks for the feedback. Agree Queenstown is a bit far, the store listings are very similar at Leesburg to Woodbury so I'll have a look.

Ahhh ... Woodbury Common. That brings back memories (driving over the Tappan Zee, beautiful scenery, the little diner down the road...)

OK, I'm back to reality.
When I was living in NY, Woodbury Common wasn't as designer-driven -- it had more of a mix. And I never came home empty-handed. Prices were good.

I've been back there once since I moved and it was def more designer clothes.
I think the biggest difference between Woodbury and Leesburg is really the variety. I mean, Woodbury has twice the number of stores, no? My hunch is that the Leesburg prices are a tad lower -- a different clientele, I think.

N.Va. is also just a few hours from Lancaster, PA., and there are outlet strips there, too. So during the spring or fall, a nice drive for a weekend getaway and you can get another outlet fix!

(Also, remember there's Potomac Mills here. It hasn't really been known as a designer outlet, but I was there 2 weeks before Christmas and noticed that they remodeled one of the "wings" to really up their designer quotient -- several more designer stores have been added. So combine a trip there, to the attached Costco, maybe, the not-so-crowded Wegmans grocery store -- worth a drive during the week. Potomac Mills' parent company also runs Arundel Mills in Maryland: Outlets and a newly opened casino -- if you're into that.)

Leesburg Outlets are ok, but not fantastic. There used to be more variety--now it's mostly clothing. As in outlet malls everywhere these days, the bargains aren't what they used to be. Some stores have good deals, others aren't much different from shopping in the "regular" stores. The Van Heusen store usually has good deals, and I like a few of the kitchen stores. Reebok is hit or miss--there have been times I've found all sorts of deals there, and other times I found nothing I wanted.
