It's looking more likely that we may get a major snowfall according to The Capital Weather Gang

Considering that the high temp on Wednesday is around 42 degrees, I'm not seeing how this can be any more than a wet mess. It just hasn't been cold enough (below 30) to have the ground being bitter cold.

But I do love the name: Snowquester!

I keep telling people that we have had snow days in March. Maybe again, but please, only one. That's all we have left here in Fairfax!

So what exactly qualifies as "major snowfall" in this area?

Sometime in the late 70s (I was in school back then), we had over a foot of snow. This was mid-March. I was out of school for an entire week. It can happen, but to get something like that or something that makes for a "major" snowfall, I do believe the temperature shouldn't go above 35 degrees at most. It's supposed to be 45 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, with a slight dip on Wednesday. Just not sure how that's going to amount to anything major unless we get some flukey temperature drop.

You don't have to go that far back. I remember back in high school in 93 we had over a foot of snow mid March too!
