Does anyone remember the bumper stickers that were around years ago - must be 10-15 years ago now that said, "Don't Fairfax Loudoun" It may have been at a time when they were voting on zoning - houses per acre or some such matter.

In the same vein, does anyone remember Dulles Town Center's old slogan, "Just west of all that congestion"

How quickly the congestion moved west.

Congratulations Fairfax Mom!!

Yes, the festival (which was lovely) was making it congested and weekends are usually pretty bad traffic wise. Lots of people headed for the outlets I guess.

Funny how many moved out here to escape congestion, yet just brought it out this way. I don't know how you solve it, but I do hope that they look at remedies. If we could just ride our bikes or walk everywhere, that would be convenient, but everyone is attached to their cars, and I am not sure how much that will decline with the Metro expansion.

This reminds me of how many people see speeding on the road: those who drive faster are crazy and those who drive slower are stupid.

People move here because they like it and then as soon as they arrive, they complain about others -- newer arrivals -- creating congestion for them.

And yet, Ashburn keeps growing, so obviously those who like it and arrive/stay far outweigh those who dislike it and leave.

I can run my daily errands (shopping, etc.) much easier in Leesburg than I could in Vienna.

I think stpickrell and I live sort of close to one another - it really is easy to run errands around here.

It is getting more congested but the Dullest Toll Road is still by far the fastest moving highway in Northern Virginia during rush hour. 10x better than 66
