That is def. understandable, but since I have worked in the medical office for around 12 years or so, I know that many times, doctors send their patients to their friends, family, family of friends, etc.
When a person has actually seen a dr as a patient, it is much different. Someone here referred their dentist to me and he has been great.

We've been quite pleased with Otolaryngology Associates in Fairfax:
Otolaryngology Associates, P.C. | Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialists, Washington DC & Northern VA Area
That said, we were using them for pediatric issues, although over the years we worked with some of their pediatric specialists as well as some who were not solely focused on pediatrics, and were pleased with all of them, as well as the office staff. We don't have any experience with adult needs there, but have most recently worked with Dr. Doyle who does both.
