Hello all,

I will be moving to the area soon, and am looking for entry level opportunities in Intelligence and/or Cyber Security. So far, I have had no luck. I have applied to many jobs via job search websites, but don't know specific places in the area that I should target. I do regularly check usajobs, but am wondering about government contractors or other private businesses in northern va. Maybe my chances of landing an interview would be greater if I know which businesses are in the area, and target their websites directly? My background: TS/SCI clearance, USCG Reserve Intelligence Specialist (2 years), B.A. in Intelligence, working on my Masters in Cyber Security (one semester down). I read these forums and see that my clearance should be helpful, but haven't had any luck. Any advice to help my job search in northern va is greatly appreciated!!

Start with the biggies..probably more opportunities for entry-level...

Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, SAIC, etc.....

Tasc is pretty much all Intelligence.

What about without a clearance?

I'm not sure if the big intel agencies are on USAJOBS. I don't believe they are. I'd suggest applying to them directly via their websites.

that makes it harder, but not impossible. Sometimes they have other work you can do until the clearance comes through.

Where are your degrees from? I've never heard of a BA in intelligence.

Most of the DOD jobs are very hard to get. 2 years of experience in the reserves is going to make it hard to compete against former active intel analysts and Officers leaving the service who are now looking for work.

Most of the intel Officers/Civs I know are prestige whores (i.e. where did you go to school, were you an Officer, etc...).
