Please share some information, it'll be greatly and sincerely appreciated!
Are you aware of a business that would send someone to one's home to swap heavy appliances (both currently used dishwasher and dryer need to be taken to the basement from the first floor, and another washer currently sitting in the basement needs to be brought up and hooked up upstairs)? We've looked just about elsewhere, and unless you are buying a store's appliance, it won't help.

Also, what would be a resoanble cost for such a job?

Thank you to all that will answer! :-)

No, not aware of any businesses that would do this. The cost would probably be $100. That's what a service call is for a furnace. Might be lessif the laborers are "part time".

Google appliance movers, check them out on sites like BBB and Angies List, and start calling to get quotes. I suspect it will be substantially more than $100 if you want licensed, insured workers with proper equipment. Getting unlicensed, uninsured guys without proper equipment will be a lot cheaper, but if they drop your appliances through a wall or hurt themselves, it could cost you a lot more than getting it done right in the first place.

One of my neighbors told me about taskrabbit.com, where you can request help for household tasks and errands, etc. I haven't used them, but maybe someone on that site could help you?

You'd be better off long-term being friends with some neighbors and getting some teenagers to do it. You can pay them off with a few boxes of pizza. $50 worth of pizza looks like heaven to a few dudes that gotta study for tests or do homework haha!

They can help On-Demand or schedule a time you need them.
