Now if they can pull that off it'd be a coup.

I was wondering why WMATA couldn't do some of its tests while some of the defects like documentation no one will ever read and the speakers were addressed. Of course you can't go live w/o it but why would it hold up some amount of testing?

You can go live with some of the issues, considering the rest of the system has all of the same issues (like the pre-new code speakers). They simply are choosing not to because of contract liability issues that come from releasing DTP if they did.

I too will believe it when I see it, contract crap can become a long process. Let's hope everyone involved puts aside the litigation and finishes what is minimal amounts of remaining work.

As Scott Hall, a WWE Hall of Famer said, "don't sing it, bring it."

I saw the Hall of Fame ceremony too last night. Some good speeches but a looooong show.

Back to topic, it's nice to see a semi-firm opening date. Having that line open will make life easier for me in some ways.

My guess is that if they can't get it open significantly prior to July 4, they will draw it out until after. They have to expect that there will be some growing pains when this thing does get up and running, and I doubt that they want any potential problems highlighted on one of the busiest Metro travel days of the year.

I heard they couldn't go live until the speaker system was repaired. They were too audible!
