They arent going to make their plans public so people can complain about it :-)

Not all of them. There are newish THs and SFHs on the north side of Huntington Ave.
I saw those! They look nice too. But they are all down on the end by the car dealerships right? If they are the ones im thinking they are all in one long row it appears.

And if you look in the Washington Post they have had several articles about this neighborhood flooding. There even was a lawyer living there who said there was pretty much nothing he could sue for, so he was looking to sell at the time.

If you're looking at the car dealership as a point of reference, then yes I suppose they are somewhat close to there. There are other newer houses to the right of the Midtown Alexandria condos as well. Like the houses you reference, these are set back a bit (perhaps even more) from the street.

I've seen several reports on TV so I am very familiar with the flooding situation. I suppose one has to wonder what developers did to mitigate that issue for the newer homes; I'd hope those buyers did due diligence before settling where they did.

This isn't going to happen. Redevelopment, sure. But nothing on the scale of National Harbor. There simply isn't enough space for anything like that. And Cameron Run isn't exactly as scenic as the Potomac.

Went on a little trip over the weekend so did not get a chance to chime in. Thanks for all the great info at the moment.

I've driven past townhomes near huntington when I was looking for a place to rent about two years ago and the neighborhood looked pretty run down. just about every third house had a 10 year old car with hood opened needing a fixing. I'm not a big fan of the Huntington Area although every aspect of the area would be perfect if there were more retail there.

Baileys Crossroads ey. I had dismissed such locations because they were too far away from metro lines and I did not want to purchase another car. I may reconsider taking the bus. I work at L'enfant station and all mass transit would take me there.

I'm still looking in the brightwood area as Georgia street cars and Walter Reed development seems like great value. Also, anywhere in that area is a mile to either Takoma, Georgia Petworth or Fort Totten Metro stops. Fort Totten is a whole different story. I'm trying to dig up information on what will happen there seeing as the prices of property there is rather low.
