Don't know if anyone is interested, but if you have a trip planned from August to November, you might check out this sale. I just checked the Dulles-Charlotte route and they still have round trip tickets for $28. The sale ends at midnight tonight Frontier Airlines ushers in new non-stop routes from Dulles with $15 fares - Washington Business Journal and Virgin is competing with other cities not covered by Frontier http://www.virginamerica.com/vx/book...&rrid=28575024

If you read through the details, there's a catch. (There's always is, yes? ) Frontier charges a lot of fees including for seat selection and baggage. So while you might save a few bucks on the base price, you won't be exactly flying for the cost of a bus ride.

Yes, more than likely they will charge you for water onboard the flight as well. Sounds a lot like the Spirit Airlines BS to me, I will pass

Frontier Airlines adds more fees, shifts to ultra-low-fare model*-*Los Angeles Times

"Starting Monday, Frontier began to charge passengers from $20 to $50 to carry on a bag and $3 to $15 to preselect a seat."

Wow

I wouldn't really call it BS. The pricing model strips out just the airfare (your butt in the seat). Instead of $100 for a RT flight, they could charge you $250 and give you free soft drinks, carry-ons, etc. I booked a family of four to Orlando with yesterday's deal with one carry-on for $194. For a two-hour flight, one backpack will work for us. Maybe we add another $120 for two checked suitcases. Still, we're looking at $320 all-in. We can bring our own soft drinks and snacks for the short flight. We flew Jet Blue two years ago. Three of us (our daughter was under 2 and flew for free), cost $640, which was a good deal at the time, and we did not have to pay for luggage, drinks, etc. But I'm going for half this time with one extra person, so I'll take it, even without a soft drink or WiFi for two hours.

Wow

$3 addition to a $15 flight doesn't seem too bad. I always check bags anyway, so no additional charges (for me).

Not so fast!

Frontier Airlines | Checked Baggage

Looks like they'll charge $20 to $75 per checked baggage as well.

I pay $25 for a checked bag on every flight I take.....regardless of airline. So, once again, no addtitional cost (for me).
