Hello.... I am looking for a gym in or near Woodbridge. I know there are quite a few but I am wondering which is the best without spending your life savings or giving up your first born child!

Thanks for any info!

There is a Gold's Gym in Lake Ridge and they are about to open up one on Route 1 in the Marumsco Plaza
Retro Fitness near Potomac Mills.
Planet Fitness on Route 1
World Gym in Dale City
Anytime Fitness in the County Center Area
La Fitness behind the Walmart off of PW Pkwy (although they might be pricey)
XSport at the corner of PW Pkwy/Minnieville Road
Powerhouse Gym at the corner of Golansky Blvd/Smoketown Road

There is also a Sport and Health in Potomac Town Center but that is very expensive.

Those are the ones that I remember off the top of my head, but there may be some others. Generally I have found Gold's Gym to be affordable, but it depends on what you are trying to do. If you aren't trying to do anything other than staying in shape (not bodybuilding or anything beyond average gym usage) than Planet Fitness probably makes a lot of sense.

My husband was a member of Powerhouse Gym for about a year and a half. It's a straight up gym, nothing fancy and no frills. They will even tell you they aren't a "health club".

The benefit is that it's a monthly membership. You aren't required to be locked into a year or two-year membership like many other gyms. And when my husband signed up two years ago, it was only $20 a month.

The golds gym at Lake Ridge is where I went and it's a really good one. Get's a bit crowded in the evening but that's always the case.

I heavily recommend X-Sport. They are open 24/7, always has fresh towel and usually people are nice. Try to get their buy 1 get 1 year free deal.

Chinn and the Dale City Park's and Rec Centers are an option. They are affordable and you aren't obligated with automatic renewals. On the other hand, they are crowded.

The golds gym in lake ridge runs $30 a month. It's somewhat cramped with too much equipment but hours are good. Dislike that a few treadmills always seem broke asking with stairstepper. Really don't like that aerobic room still has broken door. Crazy loud when they have classes. Great day care though. Wish they offered weekend memberships.

Yeah it's hard to find a parking space sometimes during the evening. I wonder if the new location is going to help alleviate the amount of people there. It certainly will make it more enjoyable to use.
