Hi, my husband is in need of a root canal. We do not have dental insurance, so we need good affordable options. Looks like the crown is going to to about $1200, and the root canal about the same. He is in pain, so he needs this done asap. Anyone have any experience with a good endodontist that is not quite so pricey?

Thank you,

MBG

I would check out a dental school. The work will be supervised by a licensed dentist, and the students will have been trained in the procedure--so your risk will be low.

Here's a list: https://vadental.org/careers/dental-school-listings

You might want to try Dr. Citron, in Vienna, VA. I had a root canal three years ago, and he seemed very reasonable. His prices may have gone up, however. Just wanted to throw this out there. Hope it helps.

Well Obama promised us that the average family would save 2500 per year on health insurance; so you would still be 100 bucks better off.
