Primo is pretty good. So is Potbelly Sandwiches.

I used to live in upstate New York and fell in love with DiBella's subs. The closest one to me now is outside of Pittsburgh. I wish they'd come to Winchester, along with fellow Rochester company Wegmans

I, too, would LOVE to see a Boston Market in Winchester. I wonder what they're waiting for? I am not the biggest fan of fried chicken anyway.

If they are a Philly chain, I have got to try them! I try not to do they hoagie thing TOO much, but when I want one, there's nothing like a Philly hoagie!

A couple years back I went to a conference in Rochester, NY and did not realize how good the food was in that area. Everything we had was delicious! The one thing I liked (the most) was the sweet potato fries. They were everywhere! I wondered why we (mid-Atlantic region) did not have them to such frequency. They are available at some places but they often either charge extra for them. And I have yet to have any as yummy as in Rochester!

A little while later, we went to a wedding in Schenectady and visited Albany. We rented a car and went exploring into the rural/farming areas. Once again, fantastic food! I had the best ever rhubarb pie (I never really knew what it was--a giant stalk/plant?). The only rhubarb pie in our area, IMO, is at the cafe at the National Museum of the American Indian (DC) -- a little pricey but worth it.

I understand that what we were sampling were artisanal foods. And that these areas in upstate NY were once deemed "the bread basket of America".

They should bring a WaWa to Winchester. That would be great, honestly I'm not happy about the Bojangles. They should keep it down south.

Mom's Apple Pie in Leesburg has a rhubarb pie (and strawberry rhubarb pie, which is more common).

I am not sure if it's is where the Wendy's on Pleasant Valley Road currently is or perhaps it was that Mexican restaurant next door but one of those slots was supposed to had been a Boston Market as I can remember the Star had actually at the time ( 1994 maybe 1995 ) announced it. Not sure why that never happened other than I guess it could had very well been due to local Winchester politics at the time. Back then there were a lot of those "old school" people who were still around who unfortunately had that "Winchester is a tiny town..we want to be like Mayberry" mentality. Perhaps Boston Market had considered that kind of attitude to be a turn off just like those people who had planned on building a massive movie multiplex theater on Valley Avenue did and decided to pass on Winchester.

Since so many of those old timers are now dead ( or if they are still alive probably too old to even care anymore ) I am surprised that Boston Market hasn't reconsider Winchester.

Chambersburg had a Boston Market in the mid-1990's, but it was converted to a Popeye's in the early 2000's. I've been told that Boston Market over expanded in the 1990's and simply pulled out of the Four State region.

Oh for those whose mouths are watering for Bojangles in Northern VA (yeah all 2 of you ). May I direct you to the fact that there are 3 locations just over the Potomac River in PG County?
