At this point, why would rezoning be denied? The project seems to stall nearly every year. Any developer that had the intention to complete the project should be given the opportunity, in my opinion.

From what I understand, it's a bad deal for the county. Better to let it sit. The developers won't make promises as to building the roads/ bridges that the county needs, and the houses will be a drain on the schools.

That's just a recipe for the property sitting vacant for another 10 years.

Didn't the developer claim bankruptcy or some other kind of financial hardship?

Why is it a necessity for the property to be built on by a net money losing development?

I think the initial developer did, but the property keeps being passed around.

How will the development lose money? Likewise, what revenue is the property creating in its current state?

It would lose money because they were going from 200 houses to 1400 apartments, which would be a lot of lower income families with kids. At least that is my guess.

Right now someone is at least paying taxes on it, so it is a small gain versus a loss.

Did it say that the apartments would be low-income? Some apartment developers cater to young professionals and retirees.
