It's our first new build, and it's much more house...and expense...than we were planning. We got sucked into value/sq ft, and now need to invest in the additional/necessary accoutrements.

Figure...a sprinkler system...a fence...a backyard patio...lighting...ideally a backyard sunroom...window coverings...and furniture.

Though we've never done them, thinking estate sales for the furniture (and perhaps lighting) and Costco for the window coverings. Does anybody have any recommendations (by name, if possible on these forums?) for the others, please?

When we bought our home, we used Next Day Blinds. However, while the blinds were good quality and still going strong after almost 18 years, the name of the company is a misnomer. They are done by the "next day". However, if you want them installed, there is a wait.

If you want to go this route, they send a salesperson to your house and measurements are taken of each window you want covered. You also choose the style and color(s).

If you are able to do the installation yourself, you will save money.

There is a place that if you google and put consignmentsolutions leesburg va in the search engine you will see a consignment furniture store that has some model home furniture and other furnishings. I have bought some really nice pieces there. Check it out and good luck!
