Where in the area is within 15-20 minutes of Woodson/Frost schools area and 45-60 of Mark Center? Centreville too far?

Centreville is most certainly not within 15-20 minutes of Woodson

So am I crazy for looking around Centreville HS (Clifton really). Its under 10 miles to Fairfax and under 20 to Mark Center along Braddock, but I have never been to that area so don't know what it is like.

It's not crazy, it just takes longer than you would think it would.

In the Northern Virginia area a good rule of thumb is a three times multiplier. Ten miles equals thirty minutes, twenty miles is an hour. Plus or minus, depending on the time of day...

Seems to me to move in between the two...Little River Turnpike at 495 would fit. Anywhere from the west side of Fairfax is going to be bad commute.

On the worst of days, I don't think it would take you more than 30 minutes to get to the schools. Braddock is pretty free-flowing albeit very congested during rush hour save the 123 intersection which is a mess.

From there, I would probably just take Little River Turnpike to Beauregard Street to the Mark Center. You could probably do that in 30/35 minutes on the worst of days.

Not a fun commute, but I've seen a lot worse.

Agreed. Eastern Fairfax is a better fit for these commutes.
