It's a little too late for him to improve the restaurant, unfortunately. This experiment has probably created some angry Americans, but I suspect the place will open somewhere else (maybe not in the DC area) under new management so people can enjoy drinks after work. But -- the new managers will need to have a little less talk and a lot more action to improve customer service and food quality.

One would have thought the name Joe Theisman would no longer be a draw for many in this area.

I see what you did there. Also known for the hits "Who's That Man Runnin' My Fryer?" and "Shoulda Been a Busboy."

From the pictures on yelp it looks like they were trying to be trendy and serve beers in mason jars. Should've stuck to the red solo cups and the place might have made it...

I used to work at John Carlyle, back in 2003-'04. I remember when there was a Paisano's where the Whole Foods is now. This was before PTO moved in. The only places to eat were Subway, Theisman's, and Dutch Touch.

"Him" has nothing to do with the operation of these restaurants. They just pay him to use his name.

That's why I said he should have been more careful who he licensed his name to. This could impact future ventures as most of the customers actually believed that he runs the joints and now they "know" he can't run a restaurant. Maybe he should try oil change places next?
