Hi!

Can someone comment (preferably from experience) whether slugging from the Garrisonville Rd. and Mine Rd. lot in Stafford to and from Crystal City is a "sure thing"? I'm looking at some rentals near there and this would help me decide.

Also, how does this work, are there lines for different destinations?

Also, if anyone knows about the neighborhood there, any info would be appreciated!

Have you checked out slug-lines.com? It is full of great info.

I THINK the line for Crystal City is over in the Staffordboro lot. I commute from the 610 lot to Downtown DC every day and have never had any problems.

I live about 10 miles south, so I can't comment much on the neighborhood, but it seems nice enough and has all the shopping and all that one would need.

I've seen the slug-lines.com website, but it doesn't get too particular about this lot.

So the Staffordboro lot is just across the street from the 610 right?
I'm a newbie, how do I know where to stand? Is it labeled?
Can you comment whether slugging from Stafford would be like 99% dependable for getting to Crystal City by * AM?

Sorry for the latency, just saw this now. For Crystal city you will want to go to the Staffordboro lot. There is just one big line for all drop-off points and there is a sign that says "Slug Pickup/Dropoff". I usually get into DC by 6am, so I can't say for sure about 8am, but I would imagine that if you get to the lot around 6:30-6:45 you will be safely in Crystal City by 8am 99% of the time.

Really, you just need to try it out a few times and see if it works out. People in the slug line are generally friendly, so don't be bashful... ask questions and somebody will give you a solid answer.

You also might want to consider VRE. It is a more expensive option than slugging, but VRE is generally reliable and parking at least is free.
