I'm taking the family to a Nats game this Friday. There will be 5 of us. Should I drive or take the metro?

I would definitely drive. Each person is going to cost at least $7 round trip, while you could park for under 20. It isn't bad getting in or out really.

I have parked here before. Getting in the Metro after is chaos, especially if you've got small children.

No need to be at the mercy of metro, very easy to drive and much cheaper as well.

Enjoy the game.

If you have more than 2 people it makes more sense to drive and park. If you were 2 people, and wanted to drink, then I'd say metro is the winner. If there were more than 2 people and you all want to drink, uber would be your friend.

Transportation options are great.

This.

Also, another option is to walk up/down New Jersey Avenue from the Capitol South Metro Station which is serviced by the Silver Line. It's a 15 minute walk but you would avoid the huge crowds at the Navy Yard and L'Enfant Metro Stations.

I personally only transfer if I absolutely have to but I'm familiar with DC and like walking, so it might not be for you.

Only issue for some with children in strollers would be the part under SE/SW which is not very walkable or friendly from a pedestrian stand point. But definitely if you are with a few friends this is also a good option.

If you have kids, it's rarely not the right answer but that doesn't mean that more 20 somethings looking to drink coming off the roads because of metro isn't also a good thing. All about options.

Drive, Drive, Drive!!! Metro is awful especially after the game. There are two garages next to the ballpark: Lot B and Lot C. They both cost more money, but it's worth it in terms of access and convenience.
