So, excellent schools are NOT the entire equation for home appreciation?

Depends what you are looking for, if you want a major ROI and decent schools look into the Marshall zones near the Silver Line.

Falls Church City is also another good place because of redevelopment under way.

If you just want the best schools and are ok with stagnate or slow price appreciation Langley zones would be your best.

McLean falls somewhere in between.

Default Name Confusion

Names are confusing here. Falls Church High School is NOT the HS for the City of Falls Church; that school is called George C. Marshall High School. Falls Church High School is part of the Fairfax County system. You should also be aware that what most of us think of as West Falls Church is the area west of West Street along Broad Street and north of the W&OD Rail Trail (where the West Falls Church Metro Station is also located). Yet there is a geographical designation "West Falls Church" south of Route 50 (between Annandale and Graham Roads) that is somewhat farther away and used to be called "Jefferson".

The high school for the City of Falls Church is George Mason High School.

Marshall HS, like Falls Church HS, is part of the FCPS systems.
