After reading this thread yesterday, i found one in my house. I didn't know the name before. I do see this occasionally, may
be once every 3-4 months.

Is it too bad to see a silverfish once in a while in the home?

Ugh...these things are the worst! Definitely house centipede, but I never knew they actually had a name - I always just thought it was the spider crickets and centipedes mating in my house. I hate both individually, but the house centipede is just so disgusting.

I HATE, HATE centipedes - have found them here - do a search in the House Forum - lots of talk about them.

The thing the OP took a picture of isn't one though (as far as I know, I'm no entymologist)

I believe centipedes survive by eating OTHER bugs in your house....I'd try to figure out what they are eating so much of. Could be something you can't see, but don't want any more than the centipedes, or maybe less.

I have a pest control contract. There are SO many more bugs here that enter the house vs when I lived near Seattle. Pest control was my first "to do" when I got here! LOL
