You are so full of yourself it's almost comical reading some of your advice.

As soon as his interview with you was over, you can bet that the cop wrote down notes on what he discussed with you, and these would be the basis for his testimony if he did see you in court. I can't say for sure what the bus driver did, but he/she would not be considered an expert witness and I doubt would have taken down any notes.

I guess this one of those cases where honesty was not the best policy, and you might have been better off not answering the door when the cop showed up. That way, he would have been forced to issue you only a 46.2-844 infraction.

There is some risk to trying to blame the bus driver. I don't know anything about Shenandoah County, but buses around here have video rolling at all times....primarily to monitor the students, but it also captures quite a bit out of the side/rear windows. There is also a satellite-based tracking system on all buses. Among other things, it logs the exact time and location that the traffic warning lights are activated.

For your future edification and that of whoever may read this:

Keep calm and remember the five words!

I have nothing to say.

I have nothing to say.

I have nothing to say.

I have nothing to say.

I have nothing to say.

Really? That's never, ever been said about a cop, retired or not, has it?

And is that another personal attack on me? Hmmm.

Rather than trying to disparage me, why don't you provide the OP some better, more useful and compassionate advice?

And please try to point out where my advice is not up to your standards. I'm sure others on this Board would want to be educated as to my inaccurate and comical advice.

No personal attack at all. You're just a funny person to read. One can only imagine you sitting at the keyboard with smoke coming out of your ears as you type furiously away. Carry on.

I would disagree. I reccomend hiring a reputable, ethical attorney. Lee In Beechtree doesn't appear to think they exist.

I would disagree also.

If you find your ass in a sling, a good attorney is your best friend. Sure, they're expensive, but real experts in any profession are expensive. Money well spent, I think.

Like my dad used to say, "There are no millionaires on death row".

Yep. I befriended many lawyers in the last 35 years with several I'd say are very close friends. Calling them shysters is low class but what do I know compared to lee. There are shyster lawyers just like there are bad in every profession. Even yours lee.

^^^^^This.

Or, "Officer, respectfully, I'm going to exercise my right to remain silent."
