Everyday, I drive through Rosslyn and get on the GW Parkway Northbound. Right at the entrance of the GW Parkway on N. Lynn St, there is ALWAYS a police SUV parked on the grass, pulling people over into the left most lane. Does anybody know what these cops are looking for?

Just a guess, but maybe they are looking for those using the left turn lanes to bypass bridge traffic? The GW turn has two left turn lanes while the one light before it has only one. Maybe people are going straight in the left only lane? Just my guesses.

That is the "intersection of doom." The Custis Trail crosses the intersection there so there are constantly collisions between cars on the 66 off ramp and pedestrians/bicyclists: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local...72c_story.html.

The cop car is probably looking for motorists who make right turns from the 66 ramp onto N Lynn without yielding to pedestrians/cyclists.

If it's beginning of the month, they could be looking for expired license plates/decals/safety inspection stickers.
