Hi, was wondering if anyone knew of a family doc in the fairfax/burke (near George Mason would be great) area that has things like a lab, x-ray, etc on site vice having to send someone elsewhere? Much appreciated!

I would ask the question if they are in the same building as lab, xray, etc. Most docs would not have those services in office. You might try Kaiser also. They are self contained...

I don't know any that have imaging in office. Capital Family Practice in Fair Oaks has a lab in office and an imaging place in the next building over.

I go to Patient First in Woodbridge (they have locations throughout NoVA). They have a lab and xray. They also fill prescriptions on site. In addition to urgent care, they can be your primary physician.

Just curious--are you using them for your primary care? I've been thinking about it. I've never been there but my kids have and, so far, we are impressed.

I have chosen them as my PCP for my insurance. However, I'm horrible about going to the doctor for regular check-ups. I typically only go to the doctor when I'm unwell. (As I creep up on 40, I need to change that.)

I do like them, though. The location and hours are so convenient, and the ability to walk-in without an appointment is nice. When I do go, I go first thing in the morning and I haven't had a long wait.

The only down side I can see is that you don't get that "personal, know your face/name" experience you might get form a smaller practice. But with the number of patients doctors are seeing, that might be true for most places these days.

What about Fairfax Family Practice? Fairfax Family Practice - Family & Sports Medicine Doctors It's in the building right beside Fair Oaks Hospital, sort of near George Mason, maybe not Burke so much. They have X-ray there as well as their own lab plus a walk in service for current patients.
